Happy Fiscal New Year
Bradley Budden, BCICA Executive Director
The BCICA’s fiscal new year is on May 31, 2025. In celebration, here is an update on the association.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the BCICA membership, Board, golf committee, and the BCICA technical committee. Your hard work and dedication in supporting the BCICA as an organization is something we can all be proud of.
As an association, all the metrics are going up. Our financial statement is very strong, our membership continues to grow with distributors, manufacturers, and mechanical insulators seeking membership.
Within the greater industry, the engineering community has been consistently asking the BCICA technical and informational questions. Engineers are also seeking advice about correct installation and specification of mechanical insulation. This transfer of knowledge is raising the bar on quality and professionalism in projects of all sizes and scopes, evidenced by record-setting numbers of QAC projects and requests for BCICA members to complete the work.
And of course, with every bit of good news, there comes challenges and opportunities to improve. We are still struggling with participation in networking and social events. We are a small association and when members do not attend events or communicate within the industry, their absence is felt. All are welcome with open arms. The more we work together to grow, the stronger we become.
Below is our Association Purpose as stated in our Constitution. These purposes outline the standard to which each BCICA member must adhere:
To improve and extend knowledge, techniques and skills in the mechanical insulation industry; to advance, develop and present, directly or indirectly, education and training programs for that industry; and to further co-operation among persons, firms and corporations engaged in the mechanical insulation contracting business in British Columbia.
To study all types of problems relating to the mechanical insulation contracting business and to aid in the solution thereof; and generally to promote the highest standards of operating efficiency among persons, firms and corporations engaged in the mechanical insulation contracting business.
To promote the highest standard of business ethics among persons, firms and corporations engaged in the mechanical insulation contracting business.
To co-operate with organizations having similar or allied objectives and, without limiting the generality thereof, to join, associate with, affiliate with or take into membership such other organizations upon such terms and conditions as may be mutually desirable.
To inform the mechanical insulation industry of new techniques and development.
In closing, I would like to thank you all once again for your time, energy, contributions, and connection. We are not always in agreement; however, everyone involved wants to improve and develop the industry to the highest standard. If we did not have this mutual agreement and trust between us, we could not be where we are or travel the road to our ambitious and successful future.
Remember: We don’t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face challenges.
The BCICA is here to support and help your company grow.
