BCICA Technical Update
The BCICA is striving to be and maintain the highest standards for mechanical insulation in the industry. In the past, the BCICA membership has adjusted to make sure we are applying the correct mastic for the correct temperature of piping. For example, CP-10 is a breathable mastic and cannot be used on cold piping.
We are noticing that sometimes the finish on the mastic is not to a Red Seal standard. We are asking that the final mastic coat be smoothed and uniform to eliminate any excessive mastic and/or voids. Please smooth the surface with a trowel.
