BCICA Update from the Executive Director
I hope everyone is doing well.
The BCICA continues to have strong growth. Our membership in the BCICA is continuing to increase and this is allowing us to make some governance changes.
The BCICA is currently doing a review of our bylaws and constitution, and we will be presenting bylaw changes at our next AGM, which will be held November 14, 2026. All bylaw changes must be approved by the BCICA membership.
One change we are currently discussing is increasing the size of the board, which is currently made up of eight BCICA members. This increase would allow more BCICA members to take an active role in growing the association. The BCICA board conducts all of its board meetings online, which means any new board members are not restricted by geographical limitations.
If you are interested in discussing how the board operates, and/or potentially joining the BCICA board, please contact the BCICA.
The BCICA fiscal year ended on May 31, 2026. I can report that the BCICA is in a strong position to move forward. All financial documentations will be released at the AGM.
The QAC program year also ended on May 31, 2026, and it exceeded our previous year’s numbers.
The BCICA is working hard to improve mechanical insulation specifications. Each engineering firm we contact is different; some are very quick to respond and others are extremely slow. If you have specifications that you would like changed, please contact the BCICA. We will do everything we can to improve the market.
The BCICA has also received a lot of questions from engineers about mechanical insulation. These questions are vetted by the BCICA Technical Committee, which is currently made up of five individuals. We are always looking for more volunteers to the Technical Committee.
As we move forward within the BCICA and the QAC program, please contact the BCICA if you have any suggestions for how we can improve our industry and the services the BCICA provides to you, the BCICA member.
All my best,
Bradley
