Executive Director’s Report
Dear BCICA Members.
As we move from summer to fall, the BCICA is very busy. We continue to work for our membership to promote best practices in the British Columbia mechanical insulation industry.
Our efforts are being noticed. Our membership continues to increase, and you can expect new membership announcements soon.
The British Columbia engineering community is working with the BCICA at a level never seen before. Together, we are working to improve mechanical specifications, and we are answering their insulation questions about mechanical insulation. The BCICA’s mandate is: to study all types of problems relating to the mechanical insulation contracting business and to aid in the solution thereof and generally to promote the highest standards of operating efficiency among persons, firms, and corporations engaged in the mechanical insulation contracting business.
The BCICA is doing this for you.
The fall social event calendar continues to stay very busy. At the Whitecaps soccer game last week, Delta E Mechanical Insulation won the signed and framed Thomas Muller soccer jersey.
The BCICA was in Kelowna this month to promote the mechanical insulation industry in the Okanagan, and we hosted a dinner meeting in Vancouver to discuss Prompt Payment and the fiberglass material shortage. Contractors are invited to the insulators-only breakfast meeting in early October. These and other events help you network, educate yourself, and grow your businesses.
The BCICA AGM will be held November 14. We are currently reviewing our bylaws and will be presenting amendments and new bylaws for mandatory review and approval at the AGM. The AGM notice will be sent out soon. One major change that will be presented to the membership is an expanded board of directors. The BCICA currently has eight board members, and we are looking to move to 10 members.
BCICA board meetings are held monthly and online. If you are interested in becoming a BCICA board member and you have questions about the Time Committee, please contact the BCICA. We are also seeking new members for the Technical Committee.
Finally, we are looking for nominations for BCICA Life Membership. If you would like to nominate a member that has provided service above and beyond to the mechanical insulation industry, Please contact the BCICA.
